The title of this post are the two main factors for not attending the UK Focus Seminar, cited by those that responded to my previous email.
Location was also an issue for many, and “More Time” also extends to responsibilities that cannot be avoided.
I’m not the kind of person to say “excuses, excuses” and insist that it’s in your best interests to drop everything and go into debt to attend. Yes, they are valuable, but unless you view business and the pursuit of money as the most important facets of life, then IM seminars come a fair way down the order of priorities.
But viewed purely in relation to business interests - YOUR business interests - then they should rank very highly indeed.
If you can’t get to this event because time and location is a factor, then seek out other IM related events that are closer.
If your budget is stretched too thin, then stop purchasing the latest and greatest IM products until you’ve saved up enough to attend. There are few training products out there that can compete with the inspiration, contacts, and focus that can be earned at an offline seminar.
If that’s not enough, look for relevant workshops or networking meetings in your area. Many of these are inexpensive or free, and provide a nice introduction to the benefits of networking and the stress relief that comes from spending time away from your desk.
