Lucid Marketing is Hiring…

Hi! If you're new here, you might want to register for free email updates. Just use the form at the top of the sidebar. Thanks for visiting The Lucid Blog!

Lucid Marketing is expanding and we’re looking for some talented and enthusiastic people to join the team.

We have a couple of projects that are in the final stage of development and are in need of capable management.

This is an ideal opportunity for someone who is keen to progress in the IM industry, but does not enjoy (or finds it difficult) working solo.

This would be a freelance position so, although a contract would be drawn up, you would not be tied down to working for us exclusively.  If you still wished to continue pursuing your own projects, you would be free to do so.  If you wished to outsource some elements of the work, then this would be your perogative.

We will be covering the costs and expenses of the project, so your sole priority would be to complete the work competently and in a timely fashion.  In return you will be receiving a generous percentage of the net profits.  A minimum level of payment would be guaranteed.

We are as yet undecided whether this role should be handled by one person, or several so, even if the number of hours you could commit are limited, you should still express your interest.

The main qualities needed are:

  • - the ability to learn new jobs quickly.
  • - the ability to work with a minimum of supervision.
  • - reliability.

The tasks involved may include some or all of the following.  It is not necessary to be capable in every area, but you should be able to identify at least one in which you are confident.

  • - Installing scripts and basic customisation.
  • - Basic server administration.
  • - Communicating with programmers to design, develop and test website facilities.
  • - Handling content management systems - experience with MemberSpeed (formerly CMSInfusion) is preferable.
  • - Editing and formatting Microsoft WORD documents.
  • - Customer Support (ticket system).

The intention is to advertise this on Elance and Guru next week but, if possible, we would prefer to work with someone who is familiar with what we do and who is enthusiastic about helping us take Lucid forward.

For details on how to apply, please complete the form below and an email with instructions will be forwarded to you.

I think it’s a bit beyond me I am afraid. A good position for someone more advanced. I think I have 2 out of the 3 qualities but don’t even understand what the tasks are! Best stick to my lingerie.

I am definitely interested in this. I am very web savvy, so installing scripts and making customisations is right up my alley. As long as the customisations don’t involve writing code from scratch. I know enough to be able to hack PHP code someone else has written.

I would also be excellent in the realm of customer service. I have a gift for dealing with people. I have worked in IT for nearly 5 years publicly and privately, so the word documents will be a piece of cake.

Although, I can talk with programmers just fine, I myself am not able to write PHP code from scratch. If by server administration, you mean backing up a website, uploading files, etc. I am able to do that as well.

I look forward to hearing from you. — Dennis Grubbs

I think I am very much suitable for this position. I have filled your form and sent an email to you as per the instructions provided. However, I haven’t received an email confirmation yet.

Looking forward to working with you :)

  5. Andy Flogan Says:

Sounds like you what you are doing is a j-o-b.

  6. Mark Jones Says:

As someone capable of fulfilling all of the above requirements, I am very interesting in receiving more information.

I look forward to hearing from you soon.

    Warm regards.

  7. John Reed Says:

David, I wish you luck and mucho dosh!
However, though I’d love to be part of your team I haven’t yet used my Memberspeed and only fit the bill as a Customer Relations man and Word Editor.
If only I’d learned the rest, because though this may seem like a JOB to some it’s being part of your Success Story that will count - and greatly enhance anyone’s experience of the Business side of OnLine activity.
    To your continuing success
    John

Just wanted to insert a comment here. It’s not going to seem like a j-o-b to those who enjoy doing this kind of work. Yes, it’s work, but if you’re good at it, why not make money doing what you’re good at and be proud of it? I’m not qualified for this job but from the sound of it, the creativity and the team player aspect seems like the rewarding part and you get to fine-tune “your stuff” :-) Best of success to all those who have applied for this position.

  9. David Congreave Says:

Perhaps I shouldn’t have used the word “hiring”. What I’m really looking is more along the lines of a team member. There will be regular tasks, as with any project, but there will be a fair amount of autonomy and I won’t be constantly looking over your shoulder.

Think of it as being handed a project to manage that is 95% completed and upon which you will be receiving assistance with costs, marketing, etc, and for which you will be receiving a substantial share of the profits (without a cap).

  10. Dennis Grubbs Says:

You have released great projects in the past. This will be no different. That is why I jumped at the chance to work with you. You mentioned a guaranteed minimum level of payment, in addition to the fact there is no cap on what you can make. Whatever work is involved in this project is still better than having a much lower finite or set amount of pay for work that is a lot more boring or back breaking.

In this economy, any money you can make working at home, no matter how much it is, will be money in the bank since it won’t cost you $4.xx per gallon in your daily commute.
