An Unexpected Opportunity (true story)

24 Jan

One of the things I love about working online (especially if you take some time to network), is that you never quite know what opportunity might be waiting around the next corner.

For example, the following is a true story…

Back in January last year, I got an email from Robert Puddy asking me to give him a call because he had a proposal for me.

He was being (probably deliberately) vague so naturally I was very curious.

If you don’t know the name, Robert Puddy is the chap behind the original UK Focus Marketing Seminar.  You might also have seem his name connected to Launch Formula Marketing (membership site software).

…or AdvertisingKnowHow (popular hit exchange).

…or HitsConnect (Ad Tracking Software).

…or Adsense Detective (JV with Joel Comm)

…and more recently, Rip2It (with Pat Lovell and Sean Roach).

In other words, when it comes to internet marketing, Robert Puddy has a vast amount of experience, and is very well connected.

So, needless to say, I wasted no time in calling him up.

Robert explained that he wanted to put together a home-study course that dispelled the popular myths about traffic exchanges (also known as hit exchanges) and showed people how to use them to drive
traffic, generate leads, and turn a tidy profit.

But there was a catch.

He didn’t just want to put out a quick ebook with a few half-baked videos.  To date, no-one had successfully put together a really comprehensive guide to using traffic exchanges, and Robert wanted
to create something that covered EVERYTHING, in explicit detail.

The course would have to be capable of taking someone with no experience in this niche, and show them how to do everything, step-by-step, from start to finish.

Clearly, this was going to involve a vast amount of work and Robert invited me to help him put the course together and edit it into something that was of a PREMIUM quality.

I took some time to think about it, because it would mean carving out a great big chunk of space in my schedule to fit the work in but, in truth, I was never going to be able to refuse this opportunity.

It’s taken almost a year to put everything together but, finally, there are just a few days to go before this is opened to the public.

I’m incredibly proud that I’ve been able to help Robert put such a quality product together.  Needless to say, I’m going to be talking about this a lot more over the next few days but, for now, I’d encourage you to go below and take a look at a sample of our work.

    Hi David,

I’d seen your name attached to this, and am looking forward to it coming out – that’s an awful lot of information about Traffic Exchanges, which I often enjoy using.

Are you going to be providing any snippets to warm the market up?

    Rob

I have recently joined a number of Traffic Exchanges and the HitExchangeSecrets.com may help make them more effective

I think you’re putting the cart before the horse, so to speak. If you’re struggling with setting up email address and domain names, then you’re a long way from being ready to setup a membership site.

If you want some ongoing advice then you either need a mentor, or a support group. http://www.thenettle.com/goto/forum-know-how.html is a good solution as it’s a private forum and offers a nice environment for getting useful advice.

    Hope that helps.
