Four days isn’t quite four hours, so I have a way to go to catch up with Mr Ferriss.

Focus Seminar UK Event 2008 – In Review (Part Three)

Networking:

The opportunity to make new contacts and to build relationships with existing ones, is the reason why there isn’t really such a thing as a bad IM event.  Even if the presentations are poor (and this certainly wasn’t the case here), the chance to network with like-minded entrepreneurs is always valuable.

Unfortunately, this was probably the weakest aspect of this event and I sincerely hope this will be addressed for next years event. (more…)

Focus Seminar UK Event 2008 – In Review (Part Two)

Lectures:

After the introductory session and some improvised Q&A, Sean Roach gave a talk that was primarily about his developing project, GotAccess.  This social networking platform was mentioned briefly last year, but far more information was forthcoming on this occasion.

I remember being intrigued by the concept on hearing about it for the first time, but after this lecture I found myself daring to believe the hype.

Sean Roach could, no doubt, sell ice to the Eskimos, along with sun-loungers and a BBQ set.  Even so, it’s hard to deny that GotAccess is shaping up into something special.  Maybe, just maybe, it really is going to leave MySpace and Facebook in the dust. (more…)
