Stompernet Saved My Business

22 May

Hi! If you're new here, you might want to register for free email updates. Just use the form at the top of the sidebar. Thanks for visiting The Lucid Blog!

An exaggeration?

Maybe.

I’ll let you decide.

(And, by the way, I find case studies boring so this will be mercifully brief.)

———–

* The core of my online business is selling advertising space.

* Advertising space is worthless unless it gets regular, targeted traffic.

* When I joined Stompernet originally, my search engine rankings were in a steady decline and I couldn’t figure out why or how to reverse it.

* It took less then 2-3 weeks as a Stompernet member to figure out what I was doing wrong and within 3-4 months the problem was fixed and the ranking decline was reversing.

* And it’s still going…

Does that count as a business saved?

———–

When I released Lucid SEO last year I recorded a video that revealed I was averaging 25,000+ visitors to one niche website, every month.

That’s one million visits over a four year period. And over 70% of that traffic was coming from the search engines.

Last month, that same website received over 50,000 visits – double what I was achieving six months earlier.

That’s the beauty of Stompernet training.

The longer you apply what you learn, the more your results improve. This is long-term training for people who want their business to last in the long-term.

At the time of making this post, Stompernet are less than four hours away from re-opening their doors, just long enough to fill however many spots they feel they can reasonably handle.

Given that Stompernet now includes personal, 1-on-1 coaching, I wouldn’t be suprised if this is less than in previous years.

Yes, Stompernet membership is expensive, but keep in mind that the variety of training that is opened up to you (it’s not JUST about SEO), it’s unlikely you’ll have to buy any other training material for a very long time.

I’m not going to labour the point. You know by now if your business needs Stompernet training to grow – or maybe survive.

And I’m not going to offer some redundant bonuses if you purchase through my link. There’s little I could offer that isn’t surpassed by what Stompernet provide anyway.

So let me just say this:

If you’re going to give Stompernet a try and you’ve found my emails interesting, useful, or entertaining, please consider using the link below.

But whether you order from my link or someone else’s, if you do take that step to join the Stompernet family, please drop me a line and let me know.

I’m always pleased to get to know those who are serious about their online business and, for what it’s worth, I’d like to share with you a handful of tips that will help you to get the most out of your Stompernet membership.

The sheer size and scope of Stompernet can be overwhelming at first and I’d be pleased to share with you some of the things that helped me settle in.

OK. 3pm EDT is the launch time (don’t be surprised if it’s delayed slightly while they balance the server load) so if you’re going to get onboard, I’d highly recommend landing on the page early and refreshing when the countdown timer has finished. And, once you’ve completed your registration, drop me a line and I’ll email those tips over.

Stomper Site Seer (SSS) Review

21 May

Apologies for not posting this sooner, but last week I came down with a nasty does of man-flu and was forced to retire to bed with a DVD box-set of “24″ (being ill should always have perks).

It never ceases to amaze me how much I can stress over missing a few days online, only to come back to work and find that…

I’ve missed absolutely nothing!

At least that’s usually the case…

===============

I returned to work yesterday to find out I’d missed the launch of the new “Stomper Site Seer” tool.

Gutted!

I spent this afternoon catching up on missed videos and putting the new SEO tool through its paces.

Stomper Site Seer

The verdict?

It succeeded on one level, but left me feeling distinctly underwhelmed.

I’m probably being a little harsh, but Stompernet have set the standards for everything they do to such ridiculously high levels that I couldn’t help feeling a little bit let down.

The tool works by taking your web address and primary keywords and then spitting out a report that tells you – from an SEO point of view – what you’re doing right and what you’re doing wrong.

The finished result is comprehensive, but only because it provides an extensive explanation for each section. While this is a good thing for helping you to understand why each aspect of SEO is relevant, I found myself skimming through information to get to the personalised results.

Easier said than done as, although some of the personalised information is highlighted in green, it still feels cluttered and the sheer volume of explanatory information is daunting. Stomper’s biggest problem has always been the tendency to paralyse members with the range and depth of information, and the Stomper Site Seer seems to crystalise this weakness.

Stomper Site Seer - Screen Grab

About 1/15th of the full report.

More disappointingly, much of the personalised results was made up of information that is readily available through existing tools. For example, how many people really need to use the Stomper Site Seer to figure out what their Google PageRank is?

Much of the information is already available from tools such as those found at http://www.seochat.com/seo-tools/

But it’s not all bad.

If you’re thinking by now that I must hate Stompernet, then thing again. I’ve paid them a lot of money over the last couple of years and I’ve never hesitated to recommend them to anyone who wants to invest in the highest quality online training available.

Some of the results may be available through existing tools, but it is nice to have them combined together into one report.

The information returned on “What Google Thinks…” your website about is eye-opening, and it certainly doesn’t hurt to be reminded when you’ve forgotten to complete some of the SEO fundamentals.

Ultimately – and this is just my opinion – the Stomper Site Seer feels unfinished. So maybe it’s unfair to be too criticial of a free tool that is still in Version 1.0.

Andy did say that a more advanced version of the tool is going to be available to Stompernet members, so maybe this is just a tease after all.

Like everything else Stompernet does, it’s worth at least giving the Site Seer a try.

BUT…

If you really want something of SEO value, then watch the half hour video called “Stomper Site Seer – Intro”.

Stomper Site Seer Intro Video

It sums up in about 30 minutes, virtually all of the off-site and on-site SEO basics and is absolutely bang up to date.

The Site Seer tool is all well and good, but you could do just as well by watching this video, taking some notes, and actioning everything that you haven’t already.

The Going Natural 3.0 videos are all in one place, so to see the archived videos, go to the link below and enter your name and email address. You don’t have to validate anything and it will automatically bring up a list of the recent videos. The “Stomper Site Seer – Intro” is in the “Series 2″ section.

New Stompernet Video

08 May

Have you ever looked at an unknown acronym and made a bad guess as to what it might stand for?

For example, in the UK, we have a car breakdown service called the Automobile Association.

More commonly known as the: AA

Of course, if you were to talk to someone unfamiliar with this company and you told them that you’re a regular member of AA, you might get expressions of sympathy, rather than congratulations on your responsible motoring habits.

By the same token, if you were to tell someone you spent $5000 last year on PPC, but your audience is only familiar with the popular restaurant franchise that sells whole cooked chickens at bargain prices…

You might get concerned expressions about your poultry obsession, rather than a pat on the back for investing in your business.

Maybe not…

Anyway, a couple of years ago, I actually did spend about $5000 on PPC (The Google Adwords variety).

But about $1800 of that money was on training to understand (among other things) the correct way to do PPC.

It was money well spent because my teacher taught me some handy tricks that increased my conversions my a factor of ten, and improved my click-through-rate three or four times over.

Nice :-)

But not as nice as the fact that you can now get more or the less the same tips and tricks (plus some new, up-to-date stuff), without paying a cent.

Courtesy of those friendly “we’re so rich, we can afford to make a high quality video with professional editing and original music and then just give it away” Stompernet people.

Just as it claims, the content is good for those who are new to PPC and those who are experienced and want to get more from their campaigns.

And, seriously folks, I’ve tried most of these techniques already.

They do work.

And, unlike me, you don’t have to pay $1800 to get it.

==================================

PS – The video is pretty sizeable so if you have trouble viewing it or if the buffering keeps kicking in, use the link underneath the video window to download it.

You don’t need to subscribe to download the first video (although you do if you want the two follow-ups) so it’s trouble-free. When you unzip it, you’ll find the video is in mp4 format. I couldn’t watch it in RealPlayer or WMP, but it worked just fine in a regular Quicktime Player.
