Buy One, Get One Free
Hi! If you're new here, you might want to register for free email updates. Just use the form at the top of the sidebar. Thanks for visiting The Lucid Blog!
I’m trying something new this week. You might think it’s the best idea ever, or you may decide that I’m TOTALLY NUTS.
Feel free to leave a comment and let me know which side you fall on after you’ve read this post.
So… here goes…
You may have noticed that I’m pretty selective about who I JV with and that if there are weeks where nothing interests me, I don’t send a recommendation for the sake of it.
So when I tell you that this week there are TWO excellent new programs I want to tell you about it, then you know I’m not just being greedy.
In the past, I’ve actually found that my readers don’t seem to like it much when I promote more than one product at a time, so the very fact that I’m breaking this self-imposed rule should, again, give you an idea that what I’m about to share is a little bit special.
But I couldn’t be satisifed with just just banging out a couple of reviews and blasting them out to you. I really wanted to find a way to link everything together.
Something that would give the whole thing a bit of polish.
This is what I’ve come up with:
…
… …
… … …
… … … …
… … … … …
If you decide to go ahead and take Product 1 then, out of my own pocket, I will BUY for you Product 2.
Make sense?
You don’t need to be a genius to figure out that the commission on Product 1 will cover the cost of purchasing Product 2, but the fact remains that I will still be paying for this out of my own profits.
And this ISN’T a fictitious purchase.
I haven’t done a deal with the owner of Product 2 so that he will just be giving it away for nothing. I’ll send him a list of names so he can deliver the product, and he’ll send me a bill for what I owe him.
Now I must be honest and tell you that I’ve let time run away with me this week. I should have written to you about this by yesterday at the latest.
Product 1 is a limited run of 350 and, at the time of writing, about half of those have already sold.
So without further ado, here are the two products in question:
Product One - Instant Membership Site 2.0
This has one epic sales page, but here’s the short version - you get an entire membership site of your own, fully functional and ready to accept customers.
That means that from day one, you van start marketing your new website and you’re in business.
To say that this is an ambitious product is putting it mildly. Membership sites are far from straightforward to design and build and I couldn’t help wondering if this could live up to expectations.
Last week I had the opportunity of playing around with the membership site itself. I don’t mean the IMS promotion, I mean a copy of the ACTUAL membership site that is being sold.
Frankly, I was pleasantly surprised.
The registration system worked smoothly, the members area looked professional and well-designed, and the huge store of audio downloads was present and correct.
So far, so good.
But I what really wanted to know was what happened next.
Everything looked good to start with, but what happens if you become an owner of one of these brand new websites when it comes to the second month.
If it’s a membership site, you need new content, right?
And, although the sale is limited to 350 licenses, how can you differentiate yourself from everyone else?
I put these questions to Terry Telford (one half of the brains behind this project) and he was way, way ahead of me.
To start with, the site is fully customisable. The membership program comes with private label rights so you can re-name it, change the graphics, add new products of your own, whatever you like.
There is a secondary option to subscribe to a monthly service that automatically provides you with new products, if you don’t want to have to create all the new content by yourself.
And the REALLY cool part, which I hadn’t even considered is that the way the site is hosted is EXTREMELY FLEXIBLE.
You can either:
1) Personalise the sales page and just host that on your domain. You get a special URL to input into your payment processor so your clients land on a thank you page on the IMS servers.
2) Download all the content from the thank you page and create a new website on your own. With this option, you can customise everything as you want and either subscribe to a monthly update service so you get new content each month, or just add your own material.
3) IMS will set up the website for you, on your own server and, again, you can opt to the subscribe to the monthly content update service.
The bottom line is that you can choose between getting started quickly with everything ready to go, or take some time first to customise the site and come up with something unique.
Restrictions have been placed on the pricing so the new owners can’t start giving memberships away and de-value the product, so that’s another box ticked.
I’m seriously impressed with the attention to detail that’s gone into this and although I usually have reservations about the so-called “Business in a Box”, I believe this comes as close as anything to fitting that description.
I fully expected Instant Membership Site 2.0 to be a four-figure, or high three-figure product, but it’s nothing like that.
In fact, bizarrely, it costs less than some membership scripts do, just for the code. With IMS, you’re also getting the products, the sales copy, the customised members area, the payment and affiliate systems… pretty much everything you can think of.
As I already mentioned, at the time of writing, about half the licenses have gone so if you want to go and take a closer look, then go to:
AND, if you do decide to get hold of one of these licenses, then I’m going to pay for Product 2 out of my own pocket. Which is:
Product Two - Post Launch Profits Secrets
I’ve already reviewed this in a previous post (www.thelucidblog.com/truth-about-alex-jeffreys/) so go back and have a read if you like.
This product is free of charge when you register, but during the sign-up process there is a One-Time-Offer for a set of 48 training videos that nicely complements the PLPS book and audio. The videos include a behind-the-scenes look at Alex Jeffrey’s successful promotions over the last couple of years, an in-depth look at list building, some basic IM training material, and a whole raft of bonuses.
The upgrade costs $97 from the members area, or $77 from the One-Time-Offer.
But, if you purchase “Product One - Instant Membership Site 2.0″, then I’ll purchase this upgrade for you out of my own pocket.
How Does It Work?
Step One: Go to Instant Membership Site 2.0 and purchase a license while they are still available.
Step Two: Go to Post Launch Profits Secrets and complete the free registration, declining the OTO when it’s offered.
Step Three: Forward your payment receipt for Instant Membership Site 2.0 to david@thenettle.com with the subject line “BOGOF David”.
Step Four: Please include your full name and the email address that you used to register for Post Launch Profits Secrets.
Step Five: I will then forward your details to Alex Jeffreys and he will upgrade YOUR account and send ME the bill.

Last but not least, leave your comments on this post below. The feedback and take-up for this offer will go a long way to helping me to decide whether or not to repeat this idea.

Great offer here. I’m sure it will be a block buster for you. There is nothing like getting a 2 for 1 deal which you don’t se to often with quality products.

Yep. 2 For 1 sounds good. If it’s 2 peaches for the price of one. We all know that it is a loss-leader or the vendors have been ripping us off in the past. In other words, it always leaves a question mark in our mind however far removed.
It works for Tesco but do you want to be a Tesco? We are all wary (Weary) of special promotions that purport to have money off, gifts, prizes, limited and exclusive access and super lifestyle changes if only you upgrade… And we know they work.
Tesco is Number One … earner. Nothing wrong with that.
Bill Gates is Number One IT earner. Nothing wrong with that.
Waitrose is my favourite food supermarket
Apple is my favourite IT brand
Waitrose and Apple are both very profitable and do not draw the level of criticism that Tesco and Microsoft attract.
It is all about positioning. Where do you want to be David? With Breitling or Timex? And there is nothing wrong with Timex. It is a brand of watch that tells you the time.
Please keep up your good work.
Warmly,
Malcolm
